Indian jewellery designs inspired by Persia, have historically been an intrinsic part of Indian society and culture; important to both men and women. The jewellery of India has been greatly influenced by the fine artistry and workmanship that was brought in by the skilled artisans who migrated from Persia. These designs were often found in architectural wonders and building facades, but were then adapted to jewellery as well. Most of these designs drew from nature’s bounty and included flowers, animals, and other natural elemental shapes such as water droplets, fire swirls and so on.

The Rose Cut Diamond dates all the way back to the early 1500s, and was commonly used through the Georgian and Victorian eras. Like other antique diamond cuts, they were cut by hand and meant to dazzle under candlelight. A Rose Cut Diamond resembles the shape of a rose bud. In general, they are flat at the bottom, creating a larger surface area for the stone's brilliance. One of the most striking characteristics of a Rose Cut Diamond is it's flat base.

Our floral motif polki ring is a mix of traditional and modern elements. Embedded with rose-cut 0.36ct diamonds set in sterling silver and 14K yellow gold.
