Bespoke Zambian Emerald Statement Ring

This bespoke ring began with a chance discovery in the antique jewellery stores of Old New Delhi. The client found a striking three-carat emerald in a vintage ring and negotiated to purchase only the stone before bringing it to us to create a completely custom design around it.

The emerald’s unusual wide pear shape immediately stood out, making it clear that no existing design would properly suit the stone. After laboratory verification confirmed it was a Zambian emerald, the design process focused on creating something timeless, modern and sculptural without feeling overly ostentatious.

Crafted in 18k white and yellow gold with diamonds, the ring was designed to allow the emerald to remain the focal point. One of the main challenges was creating a setting that protected the stone while still maintaining a refined and minimal appearance. The final self-purchase piece took approximately three months to complete and was designed entirely around the individuality of the emerald itself.
