Pompadour Rose-Cut Diamond and Marquis Diamond Pendant
- $3,800.00
Fancy diamond cuts, like the rose-cut and marquise, are a fresh way of adding something different to your diamond jewellery pieces. The rose-cut diamond began in Belgium in the 1600s and was the most popular style up until the 1800s. This style of cutting maximised the weight of the diamond. The marquise-cut is a modified brilliant-cut. The name is supposed to come from the Marquise of Pompadour, for whom King Louis XIV of France allegedly had a stone fashioned to resemble what he considered her perfectly shaped mouth.
In honour of that historic shape, our Pompadour Rose-Cut and Marquise Diamond Pendant features a 0.76 carat rose-cut diamond with 0.14 carat marquise diamonds and 0.03 carat round brilliant diamonds set in 18k white gold.
